When it comes to presenting something, like an event or a trip, videos are obviously more effective than still images. Even if you create a slideshow, you may be unable to play it on some computers, because they lack the necessary application. If a video file is not supported on a certain computer, you can download the necessary codecs in less than a minute. JPGAvi's name should make it clear that you can use it to create video files with your images. It lets you create a video with multiple pictures or a single image, if you need to insert it in another clip. It comes with various features, which allow you to adjust the speed, frame rate and much more.

JPGAvi is shareware, which means that you may use it for a limited period of time, after which you need to buy it. The software is compatible with numerous Windows platforms, from Win 98 to Win 7 and it does not take long to install it. The low system requirements allow you to run the application, without any problems, even with older hardware.

Pictures can be added to a project by dragging and dropping them over the interface. Alternatively, you can select an input folder, on the general settings panel, to load its contained images at once. Essential settings can be made directly on the interface. You may choose to create a single AVI file or unique videos, with a single picture, select a duration for each frame (in milliseconds), scale the pictures, flip, mirror or rotate them or adjust their brightness and contrast levels.

Additional options can be found in the general settings menu. The software lets you select a frame rate, sort the files alphabetically, by creation or modification dates, choose a video preset, add a soundtrack (in WAV format) and much more. If you have duplicate images, JPGAvi will exclude them from the project automatically. A real advantage is the possibility of setting a processing priority. If you need to use your computer for other tasks, while the program creates your video, a low processing priority will prevent it from using too many resources.

Before the file processing starts, a small window will show up, on which you can select a video codec, adjust the output quality and more. When it comes to input formats, the software is quite flexible. It lets you select images with different formats, like JPG, BMP, GIF, PNG and more.

Pros

JPGAvi supports popular bitmap formats and it can use various video codecs. It places numerous adjustment options at your disposal, so you can manipulate almost any aspect of the video. You can set a lower processing priority, if you need resources for other tasks.

Cons

You can not set a duration for individual images, when creating a single video file with multiple pictures. JPGAvi enables you to create quality videos, using one or more pictures. The interface and its functions are easy to understand, so anyone, including beginners may create their own videos, without too much effort.
